MCQ Bridging Course Structure & Objectives

The course will provide candidates with primordial, indispensable, useful tools and handy hints to face in a confident and quick way different MCQ questions.

Candidates will learn to approach every MCQ question, taking emphasis in recognizing common question templates and avoid common misleading alternatives.

This way to prepare for the exam is not usually covered or taught to OTD/IMG in other courses available for preparation.

Two modalities:

  1. MCQ AMC Style Bridging Course (10 intense coaching sessions; face to face; 45min each)
  2. MCQ AMC Style Online Packages (MCQ Tests 1 to 12)

The way the AMC MCQ Exam is designed is the main hurdle and the main difference from any other MCQ exam from around the world. The interpretation and total understanding of the template of the question is only part of the problem and the candidate should know “how to juggle” with the contentious alternatives to get the “most correct” answer.

There are a number of websites which provide MCQ AMC Style questions; most of them are partially reconstructed from previous exams with incomplete questions and/or incomplete alternatives. It is our view that although this is helpful for some, it only provides a “syllabus” of the topics for the exam.

In order to be well prepare for this AMC exam a complete question with a complete set of alternatives and proper AMC type answer explanation is needed. The MCQ exam is not about recollection of book knowledge. Discernment, astuteness, sound clinical judgment and of course medical knowledge is required to get through the MCQ exam.

AMRS is committed to train; coach and help candidates achieve this level of excellence through our MCQ AMC hospital base course and online MCQ Tests.

The course is challenging, intense and has a one on one personalized style. The course focus strictly on MCQ questions, discussed from the start of the course. The candidates will receive immediate general feedback with proper explanation of the answer for each question.

A maximum of 15 candidates per group will be selected in a strict order of application. The course comprises ten 45 minute sessions. Specific timetable will be provided to candidates by e-mail after enrolment/payment confirmation. A certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the course.

The course pool of questions is constructed including major subjects (Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Psychiatry), basic sciences (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology and Pathology), Clinical Management, Public health, Population Health, Community and General Practice, Epidemiology, Ethics and Law.

All questions are ORIENTED to the Australian Health System, factor which OTD/IMG usually overlook, underestimated and sometimes neglect. The MCQ questions used include the use of clinical photos, X rays, ECG and laboratory results for interpretation and clinical correlation (haematology, biochemistry, microbiology and macro photos material widely been used for AMC exams).

In addition; for the online MCQ Tests; in the comfort of your home or office and at a convenient time (avoiding the hassle of migration; travelling and living expenses in a foreign country/city) you will experience a variety of MCQ challenging questions specifically designed in the new AMC format and style.

The package comprises 12 individual AMC Style MCQ Tests, each with twenty (20) Multiple Choice Questions (240 MCQ AMC Style questions in total). The tests (Test 1 to Test 12) can be purchase individually or as a package (discounted price).

With the purchase of each MCQ test (Test 1 to 12) explained answers will be provided. The AMC style questions will appear one by one on your screen. Three attempts per test are allowed with no time limit per question. Once a MCQ Test is opened; it will count as an attempt.

The questions have been designed and modified accordingly by an experience lecturer/tutor (an IMG/OTD; who successfully complete the all the AMC exams and requirements to practice in Australia and has been lecturing OTD/IMG for more than 10 years; see our staff tab for further details).
