For Overseas Trained Doctors/International Medical Graduates obtaining a Job in Australia may be as difficult and as complicated as going through the Australian Medical Council Exams and requirements to obtain their Australian Medical Registration.

The Job interview time / session may be “the most important 5-10 minutes of your life” in which you have to concisely, appropriately and directly “sell yourself” and maintain the calm.

You have to make the employer be interested in “you”; contrary to the crude reality in which the OTD/IMG is “desperate” to get a Job.

You need to be aware that this process (CV & cover letter design, telephone call to Human Resources & interview itself) can be considered to be another modification of a “Clinical Exam Scenario”.

In addition, it is of interest particularly for OTD/IMG to know that you can be denied a job for been overqualified or underqualified for a specific position.

There are no specific guidelines to follow, no specific structured approach, no perfect applicant and most important no definite parameters to protect you for been “dismiss” of the selection process.
